EFSIS also audit against the BRC (British Retail Consortium) which specifies food safety and quality criteria which must be in place within the organisation of any manufacturer supplying product to UK retailers. The format and content of the Standard is designed to allow an assessment of the supplier's premises, and operational systems and procedures, by a competent third party, thus standardising food criteria and monitoring procedures. Liffey Meats have been Higher Level EFSIS approved since November 2001. Since then we have maintained and expanded our scope to: 'The Slaughtering and Further Processing of beef to primal and retail specification introducing the production of mince, meat products and preparations at the Ballyjamesduff Site.' |
